Overview:
As a Pre-k Teacher at Happy Maryann, you will play a vital role in shaping the early development and education of our youngest learners. You will create a stimulating, safe, and nurturing environment in which children can grow and thrive while fostering their cognitive, emotional, and social development. Start date for September 3rd, 2024.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement DOE age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote learning and development in areas such as language, social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills.
Create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment where children feel safe, valued, and supported.
Lead daily classroom routines, including meal times, nap times, and transitions, while maintaining a structured yet flexible schedule.
Observe and assess children's progress, interests, and needs, and use this information to individualize instruction and support for each child.
Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians about their child's growth, development, and achievements, fostering positive partnerships and involvement in their child's learning journey.
Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to ensure a cohesive and coordinated approach to curriculum planning, classroom management, and child supervision.
Supervise and support assistant teachers and classroom aides, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities as needed.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of children's attendance, development assessments, and other pertinent information, adhering to DOE program policies and regulatory requirements.
Ensure compliance with all DOHMH health, safety, and licensing standards, including maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment and following proper procedures for emergency preparedness and incident reporting.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities to stay informed about best practices in early childhood education and enhance skills and knowledge.
***Must help work the after school program and summers, on a rotating schedule with other pre-k teachers and assistants. ***
